Milk closes higher
In Class 3 trade at the Chicago Mercantile Exchange, milk futures were higher, rebounding after the losses on Monday and Tuesday. The biggest gains were in the February through September 2012 contracts.
Over in the cash cheese market, barrels were up a half a cent at $1.545, with one load sold at that price. Blocks were unchanged at $1.57. Double a butter was steady at $1.54. The last bid unfilled was on one load at the closing price. Grade a nonfat dry milk was unchanged at $1.00. The last bid unfilled was for one carload at $0.98 and the last offer uncovered was on one load at $1.00.
