DuPont and Monsanto settle lawsuits

DuPont and Monsanto have agreed to settle their patent infringement lawsuits against each other. The lawsuits pending in St. Louis federal court will be dismissed.

Monsanto had alleged that DuPont infringed on some Monsanto seed chipping patents and DuPont claimed that Monsanto infringed on some seed processing patents held by DuPont.

In a joint news release, company officials say this agreement will allow the companies to focus on developing new solutions for farmers.
