Scholarships available for Illinois ag students

Illinois ag students, check out this fantastic scholarship opportunity!

Twenty $1,500 scholarships from Farm Credit Services of Illinois will be awarded next year.

Winners are picked on academic achievement, participation and leadership in school and community organizations, and the applicant’s commitment to a career in agriculture.

Eligibility requirements:

• Must be a high school senior planning to enroll in Fall 2013 at a college or university
• Must major in an agriculture-related field
• Must plan to pursue an agriculture-related career
• Must reside in an Illinois county served by Farm Credit Services of Illinois.

Application deadline is Feb. 28, 2013.

Recipients will receive $1,000 of the scholarship for the Fall 2013 semester and the remaining $500 will be available to students who continue pursuing an agricultural degree during the Fall 2015 semester. The University of Illinois College of Agricultural, Consumer and Environmental Sciences is again offering a scholarship match to 2013 Farm Credit Agriculture Scholars who enroll fulltime in the College of ACES during either the Fall 2013 or Fall 2015 semesters.
