All American Quarter Horse Congress

Since it began in 1967, the All American Quarter Horse Congress has called the Ohio Expo Center home.

Following the signing of a new 15-year contract, the world’s largest single breed horse show and Ohio’s largest annual convention will remain in Columbus through 2029.

Department of Agriculture Director Dave Daniels said a $38 million capital appropriation that will be used for at least one new building and other improvement to the Expo Center was an important factor in the decision to sign the historic 15-year contract extension.

“Governor Kasich and the Ohio General Assembly have been extremely supportive of the efforts to help ensure the Congress continues to call Ohio home for years to come. This is the largest capital investment in the history of the Expo Center and was an important factor in the event organizers’ decision to sign the historic contract extension,” said Daniels.

The new 180,000 square foot agricultural facility featuring 1,000 permanent stalls and an adjacent riding arena is expected to be completed prior to the opening of the 2015 Congress will be located on the east side of the Expo Center just off 17th Avenue.

“The Ohio Quarter Horse Association has been a partner with the State of Ohio for almost 50 years. We greatly appreciate the significant investments the state is making in the state fairgrounds. We look forward to our continued work with our state partners as facilities are constructed and renovated for the benefit of the All American Quarter Horse Congress and other events at the fairgrounds,” said Ohio Quarter Horse Association Executive Director Dr. Scott Myers.
