A different kind of cattle show

Make-A-Wish_webWhen the cattle walk in to the Champions Center show ring at the Clark County Fairgrounds at Springfield Friday evening for the BEST program’s Celebrity Showdown the real winner will be Make-A-Wish. Stephanie Sindel, BEST program coordinator says this is the second year the BEST committee identified Make-A-Wish as their community service project.

“When we started out, the BEST committee had set the goal to raise $8,000, which is the average cost to grant one wish for a Wish kid,” Sindel said. “The BEST participants blew that out of the water and raised over $19,000 last year, so as we headed into the 2014 show season the BEST committee set the goal at $16,000, in hopes of granting two Wish kids their wishes.”

Judging this year’s show will be Wyatt McCubbin, an up-and-coming country music singer/songwriter from South Charleston. The Celebrity Showdown will begin at 6 p.m. on Friday, January 31, at the Clark County Fairgrounds.
