Export inspections up on week, year

USDA reports export inspections of corn, soybeans, and wheat for the week ending December 5 were all above the previous week and year ago levels.

Wheat came out at 19.760 million bushels, up 4.245 million from the week ending November 28 and 5.490 million higher than the week ending December 6, 2012. For the 2013/14 marketing year to date, wheat inspections are 678.861 million bushels, compared to 475.733 million in 2012/13.

Corn was reported at 40.246 million bushels, 4.179 million more than the previous week and 32.189 million above this time last year. So far this marketing year, corn inspections are 361.304 million bushels, compared to 217.376 million a year ago.

Soybeans were pegged at 60.430 million bushels, 5.469 million above the week before and a jump of 11.947 million from last year. At this point in the marketing year, soybean inspections are 703.365 million bushels, compared to 654.072 million a year ago.

Sorghum inspections totaled 2.854 million bushels. That’s an increase of 2.559 million bushels on the week and 1.385 million on the year. 2013/14 sorghum inspections are 35.984 million bushels, compared to 29.109 million in 2012/13.
