The president of the Missouri Cattlewomen’s Association, Brenda Black, received a special honor last week when she was chosen as the winner of the first ever Missouri State Fair Women in Ag Contest. Black received her award at the Governor’s Ham Breakfast during Missouri Women in Ag Day at the 2013 Missouri State Fair in Sedalia.

Black tells Brownfield she gets to do what she loves every day. Along with her husband and sons, Black runs a commercial cattle and cow-calf production farm in Henry County. She’s also a journalist, author, speaker and volunteer for agriculture.

Her state Representative from Henry County, Wanda Brown, presented Black with a resolution from the Missouri House of Representatives honoring her work. Represenatative Brown is also a cattle producer and a member of both the Missouri Cattlewomen’s and Missouri Cattlemen’s Associations.
