Pork donation to make a difference

Pork donation_Dayton_Foodbank Inc (2)_webIn their continuing effort to fight hunger in Ohio, the Ohio Pork Producers Council (OPPC) donated for the Easter holiday, nearly 38,000 pounds of pork to foodbanks across the state.

“We couldn’t do what we do in the fight against hunger if it were not for the generosity of Ohio’s agricultural producers,” said Lisa Hamler-Fugitt, executive director of the Ohio Association of Foodbanks. “And at this Easter season we are so deeply grateful to the Ohio Producers Council and all the hog farmers across the state who continue with is in our fight against hunger.”

Lisa says the partnership with Ohio Pork Producers began in 2009, and since that time the state’s foodbanks have been able to deliver over 935,000 pork meals to the state’s hungry.
