Renewable Fuels Association poll: people like renewable fuels
A poll commissioned by the Renewable Fuels Association indicates that for the second year in a row, 64 percent of those surveyed support the renewable fuel standard; 25 percent oppose it.
Those numbers are almost exactly reversed when the question is whether the respondents favor government subsidies going to oil companies. Twenty-five percent favor those subsidies and 63 percent oppose them.
The polling firm American Viewpoint surveyed 1,000 adults and the poll has an error margin of plus or minus 3.1 percent.
The renewable fuels standard requires a certain amount of the fuel produced each year to come from ethanol, bio-diesel and other renewable sources.
You know, it’s really interesting to see that 63% of people support renewable fuels, yet we sell bio-fuel heating stoves and haven’t sold a one this entire heating season. It seems people support renewable fuels as long as someone else does the work. Most people don’t put their money where their mouth is.
