Good time to review your CRP acreage maintenance

A reminder from the Farm Service Agency that springtime is a good time to check over the maintenance program on your Conservation Reserve Program acreage. Sue Hunter with the Wisconsin FSA says part of your annual payment is for maintenance, you are required to control weeds, woody vegetation and other pests on the acreage. Failure to do so could result in your contract being terminated, if that happens producers are required to repay all payments received with interest and could be assessed a damage charge. Contact your local FSA office for details and requirements.
