Crop insurance protection is ‘vital’

As a Kansas wheat grower, Jerry McReynolds knows how quickly a weather disaster can destroy a crop. At Commodity Classic, the immediate past president of the National Association of Wheat Growers talked about formation of federal farm policy and pointed out the importance of risk protection in the form of crop insurance. He says the insurance “doesn’t heal everything, it just gives us some protection.” It’s one aspect of what was discussed during the meeting of four commodity groups in Nashville.
