Reid extends climate change deadline

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid has pushed the deadline for climate change legislation back ten days. Six Senate committees now have until September 28th to have their versions of the climate and energy bill on his desk. The Nevada Democrat says the extra time is needed because of the sheer size of the legislation. Speculation also is the extra time will be needed to get the 60 votes lined up for passage.

Reid still wants the final bill through the Senate in time for the U.N. climate negotiations in Denmark in December.
