Wide-ranging temperatures, weather ahead for much of the Nation

Looking ahead, the 6- to 10-day outlook calls for the likelihood of above-normal temperatures along and east of a line from central Texas to Lake Erie, while colder-than-normal conditions will prevail throughout the West, as well as the northern and central Plains and upper Midwest. 

Meanwhile, near- or below-normal precipitation in the Deep South, from southern Texas to the Atlantic Coast, should contrast with wetter-than-normal weather across the remainder of the U.S.
