Tranquil weather for much of the Heartland over the Holiday weekend

The remainder of Thanksgiving Week will continue to feature relatively quiet weather, with little or no precipitation expected during the next 5 days from California to the Plains and upper Midwest.

However, periodic, locally heavy showers will return across the Pacific Northwest and the northern Rockies, while a fast-moving cold front will deliver Thanksgiving Day showers from the Great Lakes States to the western Gulf Coast region.

On Thursday night and Friday, showers in the vicinity of the cold front will briefly shift into the eastern U.S.

The post-Thanksgiving travel weekend should continue to feature dry weather across much of the country, with chilly weather generally limited to the Midwest and East.
