Temps to moderate across the Heartland; an active weather pattern continues, as well

Looking ahead, the 6- to 10-day outlook calls for the likelihood of near- or above-normal temperatures and precipitation across much of the U.S.  Colder-than-normal conditions will be confined to the Northeast, as well as California, the Great Basin, and portions of the Intermountain West. 

Meanwhile, drier-than-normal weather should be limited to an area stretching from southern California to western Texas.
