Temps to vary greatly across the Nation; moisture outbreaks centered on the Plains

Looking ahead, the 6- to 10-day outlook calls for the likelihood of near- or below-normal temperatures throughout the northern and western U.S., while warmer-than-normal weather will be confined to the South. 

Meanwhile, near- or above-normal precipitation across most of the country should contrast with drier-than-normal conditions along the Atlantic Seaboard, as well as western Washington and the eastern Gulf Coast region.
