Seasonal warmth; a wetter pattern to evolve on the Plains, parts of the Corn Belt

Looking ahead, the 6- to 10-day outlook calls for the likelihood of near- or above-normal temperatures nationwide, except for cooler-than-normal conditions in the upper Great Lakes region, along the northern Pacific Coast, and across parts of the Southwest.

Meanwhile, near- or above-normal rainfall across much of the country should contrast with drier-than-normal weather in the northern Great Basin and environs, as well as an area stretching from the mid-South into portions of the middle and northern Atlantic States.
