Sct’d, active storms to accompany expanding heat wave next week throughout the Heartland

Looking ahead, the 6- to 10-day outlook calls for the likelihood of hotter-than-normal conditions nationwide, except for near- or below-normal temperatures in the Pacific Northwest. 

Meanwhile, wetter-than-normal weather in parts of the Desert Southwest and from the Dakotas to Michigan should contrast with near- or below-normal rainfall across the remainder of the country.
