Pattern to remain cool, trending drier across the Heartland, Corn Belt

Looking ahead, the 6- to 10-day outlook calls for the likelihood of near- or below-normal temperatures in much of the central and eastern U.S., while warmer-than-normal weather will prevail in the West and scattered areas along the Atlantic Seaboard.

Meanwhile, near- or above-normal precipitation in the East and across the nation’s northern tier should contrast with drier-than-normal conditions in most areas from the Pacific Coast to the middle and lower Mississippi Valley.
