Pattern remains active across the Nation; milder days ahead from the Plains, eastward

Looking ahead, the 6- to 10-day outlook calls for the likelihood of above-normal temperatures in most areas east of the Rockies, while colder-than-normal conditions will dominate much of the West. 

Meanwhile, near- or above-normal precipitation across most of the country should contrast with drier-than-normal weather in parts of southern California and the Desert Southwest.
