Near-seasonal temps, a drier pattern ahead for the Heartland

Looking ahead, the 6- to 10-day outlook calls for near- or above-normal temperatures nationwide, except for cooler-than-normal conditions in the Pacific Northwest. An area stretching from southern California to the Rio Grande Valley will have the greatest likelihood of experiencing warmth.

Meanwhile, near- or below-normal precipitation across most of the country should contrast with wetter-than-normal weather in a narrow strip from the western Gulf Coast region into the lower Ohio Valley.
