More cool weather ahead for much of the Heartland

Looking ahead, the 6- to 10-day outlook calls for the likelihood of near- to below-normal temperatures across much of the country, while warmer-than-normal weather will be confined to the southern Atlantic States and an area from central and southern California to the Four Corners States. 

Meanwhile, below-normal precipitation in a broad area stretching from California into the upper Great Lakes region should contrast with wetter-than-normal conditions in the Northwest and east of a line from central Texas to Lake Ontario.
