Brownfield Ag Weather Today
Potential Tropical Cyclone Sixteen will make landfall on Saturday along the North Carolina coastline, southwest of Cape Hatteras. Mid-Atlantic impacts should include rainfall of 2 to 6 inches or more; widespread tropical storm-force winds (39 mph or greater); and a 1- to 5-foot storm surge from the Carolinas to New Jersey. Farther west, a slow-moving storm system over the nation’s mid-section will produce significant rainfall through the weekend before weakening. Additional rainfall could reach 1 to 3 inches or more from Minnesota and the Dakotas southward to the Gulf Coast. The system will entrain enough cold air to result in wet snow at higher elevations of the northern Rockies. Meanwhile, the Pacific Northwest will experience increasingly stormy weather. Most other areas, including the eastern Corn Belt and the nation’s southwestern quadrant, will remain dry during the next 5 days.
