Brownfield Ag Weather Today

A complex storm system currently affecting California and the Southwest will soon influence weather conditions across the central and eastern U.S.  Notably, heavy rain should develop late Thursday from the southeastern Plains into the mid-South, with downpours extending into the Ohio Valley on Friday into Saturday.  Storm-total rainfall could reach 2 to 6 inches in the mid-South and lower Midwest, leading to flash flooding and river flooding.  Additionally, late-week thunderstorms from the southeastern Plains to the Mississippi Delta may include large hail, damaging winds, and isolated tornadoes.  Meanwhile, significant snow accumulations may occur during the weekend in portions of the Great Lakes and Northeastern States, especially near the Canadian border.  In contrast, little or no precipitation will fall during the next 5 days in several areas, including the southern High Plains, southern Texas, and peninsular Florida.
