Brownfield Ag Weather Today

A cold front currently stretching from the Northeast to the southern Plains will continue to drift southeastward, accompanied by scattered to widespread showers and thunderstorms.  Five-day rainfall should total 1 to 2 inches or more in most areas from the Gulf Coast northward into the mid-South and Ohio Valley.  On the southern Plains, however, spotty showers will provide only limited and localized drought relief.  Meanwhile, the Southwestern monsoon circulation will remain active, with showers reaching all areas of the western U.S. except along the Pacific Coast and near the Canadian border.  Elsewhere, mostly dry weather will prevail in the north-central U.S., including much of the Midwest.  However, hot weather across the Plains and western Corn Belt should contrast with cool conditions in Midwestern areas located east of the Mississippi River.
