Brownfield Ag Weather Today

Sponsored by: The American Soybean Association and United Soybean Board

A low-pressure system currently crossing the middle Mississippi Valley will drift eastward, reaching the middle Atlantic Coast during the weekend.  Additional rainfall could reach 1 to 3 inches or more from the Ohio Valley into the middle Atlantic States.  The system will stall just offshore, maintaining cool, breezy conditions along the Atlantic Seaboard into next week.  Meanwhile, chilly, showery weather will engulf the Northwest and gradually spread eastward, reaching the northern Plains and upper Midwest during the weekend.  In contrast, dry weather will prevail during the next 5 days from central and southern California to the southern half of the High Plains.  Elsewhere, early-season heat in the south-central U.S. will spread northeastward, with temperatures exceeding 100°F in parts of Texas and reaching 90°F or higher as far north as the southwestern Corn Belt.
