Brownfield Ag Weather Today

Sponsored by Pivot Bio PROVEN

The central U.S. will continue to experience unusually cool weather into next week, with frequent freezes expected as far south as the central High Plains. Frost and scattered freezes may extend into the northern panhandle of Texas. Producers in all freeze-affected areas of the central and southern High Plains will need to monitor winter wheat for any signs of freeze injury. In advance of the heart of the cold spell, a storm system emerging from the West will produce heavy, mid-April snow in the central Rockies and widespread rain from the central and southern Plains to the Gulf Coast. Storm-total rainfall could reach 2 to 4 inches or more from the central Gulf Coast to southern Georgia and northern Florida. In contrast, little or no precipitation will fall during the next 5 days across the Midwest and the Far West.
