During the next 5 days, most areas of the country will receive only light precipitation. Farther north, however, unsettled, showery weather will persist into early next week from the Pacific Northwest to the northern and central Rockies. Elsewhere, accumulating snow may fall early next week from the Great Lakes region into northern New England, while 5-day rainfall totals could reach 1 to 2 inches or more across the waterlogged interior Southeast. Temperatures across the central and eastern U.S. will quickly rebound over the next couple of days.
