An active weather pattern to continue for most across the Heartland

Looking ahead, the 6- to 10-day outlook calls for the likelihood of above-normal temperatures from the southern Rockies to the middle and southern and Atlantic Coast, while cooler-than-normal conditions will cover an area stretching from northern California and the Pacific Northwest to the upper Great Lakes region.

Meanwhile, below-normal rainfall in the Northeast, the southern half of the Plains, and much of the Southwest should contrast with wetter-than-normal weather in the Midwest, portions of the Southeast, and from the Pacific Northwest to the northern Plains.
