An active pattern continues across the Heartland; more seasonal temperatures to return

Looking ahead, the 6- to 10-day outlook calls for the likelihood of above-normal temperatures in the East, while colder-than-normal conditions will prevail from the Pacific Coast to the High Plains. 

Meanwhile, near- or above-normal precipitation nearly nationwide should contrast with drier-than-normal weather in parts of southern Texas, including the lower Rio Grande Valley.
