A mild, active, moisture-laden pattern ahead of the Heartland

Looking ahead, the 6- to 10-day outlook calls for the likelihood of near- or below-normal temperatures across the northern High Plains and the West, while warmer-than-normal conditions will cover the eastern half of the U.S.

Meanwhile, near- or below-normal precipitation will be limited to portions of the northern Plains, with the remainder of the country likely to experience wetter-than-normal weather.
