A wet pattern ahead for most of the Heartland, with temps to vary

Looking ahead, the 6- to 10-day outlook calls for the likelihood of near- or below-normal temperatures in the North and Far West, while warmer-than-normal weather will prevail from the central and southern Rockies to the middle and southern Atlantic States.

Meanwhile, near- or above-normal precipitation across most of the country should contrast with ongoing below-normal precipitation in much of the Southwest.
