Looking ahead, the 6- to 10-day outlook calls for the likelihood of above-normal temperatures returning from the Plains to the East Coast, while cooler-than-normal conditions will develop in the West. 

Meanwhile, near- or below-normal precipitation in the East should contrast with wetter-than-normal weather throughout the western and central U.S.
