A near-seasonal pattern of warmth, rainfall ahead for much of the Heartland

Looking ahead, the 6- to 10-day outlook calls for the likelihood of near- or above-normal temperatures and rainfall across much of the country.  Cooler-than-normal conditions will be confined to portions of the Great Lakes region.

Meanwhile, drier-than-normal weather should be limited to the northern High Plains, the Northwest, and portions of the south-central U.S.  In parts of Louisiana and Texas, extreme heat will accompany the below-normal rainfall.
