A much drier, seasonally chilly pattern shift ahead for the Heartland

Looking ahead, the 6- to 10-day outlook calls for the likelihood of near- or below-normal temperatures and precipitation across most the country.

Warmer-than-normal weather will be limited to parts of Maine and the Far West, including California, while wetter-than-normal conditions should be confined to Maine, the Pacific Northwest, and portions of the south-central U.S.
