A mild January pattern for the Heartland; heavy precipitation to continue in the Pacific West

Looking ahead, the 6- to 10-day outlook calls for near- or above-normal temperatures and precipitation across most of the country.  Warmer-than-normal weather will be most likely across the Plains, Rockies, Northwest, and upper Midwest.

Meanwhile drier-than-normal conditions should be limited to portions of the northern Plains, Great Lakes region, and western and southern Texas.
