A hyper-active pattern for most of the Nation; a wide-range of temperatures across the Heartland

Looking ahead, the 6- to 10-day outlook calls for the likelihood of above-normal temperatures in the South, while colder-than-normal conditions will cover northern New England and all areas northwest of a line from the southern Rockies to Lake Michigan. 

Meanwhile, near- or above-normal precipitation across most of the country should contrast with drier-than-normal weather in the Deep South, from the lower Rio Grande Valley to Florida.
