A drier pattern for the Plains; colder across the eastern Corn Belt

Looking ahead, the 6- to 10-day outlook calls for the likelihood of near- or below-normal temperatures throughout the eastern half of the country, while warmer-than-normal weather will prevail from the Pacific Coast to the High Plains.

Meanwhile, near- or above-normal precipitation in much of the central and eastern U.S. should contrast with drier-than-normal conditions in the western Corn Belt. Drier-than-normal weather will also prevail in much of the West.
