A cooling trend ahead for much of the Heartland; dry weather to dominate the eastern Corn Belt

Looking ahead, the 6- to 10-day outlook calls for the likelihood of near- or below-normal temperatures and near- or above-normal precipitation across much of the country. 

However, warmer-than-normal weather will stretch from the Pacific Northwest to the upper Midwest, while drier-than-normal conditions will cover much of the Midwest.
