A cold wave weather pattern to grip much of the Nation

Looking ahead, the 6- to 10-day outlook calls for the likelihood of below-normal temperatures nearly nationwide, with any lingering warmth confined to northern New England and southern Florida. 

Meanwhile, near- or below-normal precipitation across most of the country should contrast with wetter-than-normal weather from the central and southern Rockies into the Southeast.
