A chilly pattern to dominate the Corn Belt; some temp moderation on the Plains

Looking ahead, the 6- to 10-day outlook calls for the likelihood of below-normal temperatures across the eastern half of the U.S. and California and environs, while warmer-than-normal weather will prevail across interior sections of the West. 

Meanwhile, near- or below-normal precipitation in most areas east of the Rockies should contrast with wetter-than-normal weather in New England, the southern High Plains, and from the Pacific Coast to the Rockies.
