A change in weather ahead: cooler, showery days for much of the Heartland

Looking ahead, the 6- to 10-day outlook calls for the likelihood of near- or above-normal temperatures across much of the country.  Cooler-than-normal conditions will be confined to northern sections of the Rockies and Plains, as well as the upper Midwest.

Meanwhile drier-than-normal weather should be limited to the Southwest and the Rio Grande Valley.
