The Power of Two video series filmed live at the 2021 Farm Progress Show kicks off with a welcome message and introduction to partnerships between the Illinois Corn Growers Association and Illinois Soybean Association by ISA CEO John Lumpe and IL Corn Executive Director Rodney Weinzierl. Jim Martin, ISA District 6 Director and Utilization Committee Chair, and Jim Reed District 7 Director for the Illinois Corn Marketing Board then shift the conversation to their work with biofuels and news uses for Illinois corn and soybeans.

PRIORITIES AND INITIATIVES FOR TRADE, LIVESTOCK, AND CONSERVATION

Mark Read, ISA District 5 Director, joins Don Duvall, board member for the US Grains Council, to highlight how the associations are investing in the Illinois livestock industry and their continuous trade relationships with other countries throughout the pandemic. Then, ISA Conservation Agronomy Manager Abigail Peterson and IL Corn Nutrient Loss Reduction Manager Megan Dwyer discuss their conservation goals and partnerships including the Precision Conservation Management Program.

Ron Kindred, ISA Vice Chairman and District 9 Director, and IL Corn Chairman Randy DeSutter dive into the power of membership, the role of commodity organizations in today’s political world and how farmers can get involved. ISA Chairman Steve Pitstick and Illinois Corn Marketing Board District 3 Director Rob Elliot then close out the series showcasing how the groups align their priorities based on challenges they hear farmers are facing. They also highlight contact information, resources, and events to stay connected with ISA and IL Corn throughout the year.
