BASF investing in the future

BASF has a long legacy of investing in agricultural research.  Paul Rea, Senior Vice President of BASF Agricultural Products for North America tells Brownfield they are just as excited about the future.  Rea says BASF invests $2 million per day in research and development.  BASF recently submitted a new fungicide – Revysol – to the EPA.  Pending regulatory approval, the triazole fungicide will provide a broad-spectrum disease control for a wide range of crops.  Expectations are for Revysol to be available in the next 2 to 3 years.

During these times of economic challenges on the farm, BASF provides a good range of solutions to manage tough to control weeds and diseases and insects so farmers can grow a more successful crop.

Overall, Rea said his outlook for the long term is optimistic while in the short-term focusing on managing the challenges day to day.
