Shannon Yokley featured image Finding new ways to tell the story of agriculture is something Shannon Yokley is passionate about and that certainly proves true in her role as Brownfield’s Digital Products Coordinator. Shannon grew up in Jefferson City, Mo. where she was heavily involved in 4-H and FFA . Through these organizations she developed a passion for the livestock industry and began her own herd of registered Angus cattle. Since the age of eight, Shannon has shown cattle at local, state and national levels.

Shannon attended the University of Missouri in Columbia and received her degree in science and agricultural journalism. In 2014, Shannon was named the MU College of Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources Outstanding Junior. She served as president of Sigma Alpha Professional Agricultural Sorority, competed on Mizzou’s Livestock Judging Team in 2014 and held leadership positions in Mizzou’s Agricultural Communicators of Tomorrow, Collegiate Farm Bureau and Collegiate Cattlewomen’s organizations.

In 2014, Shannon was the recipient of the National Association of Farm Broadcasting’s George Logan scholarship. While in school, she took advantage of several internship and freelance opportunities with the Missouri Department of Agriculture, FCS Financial, Farm Journal Media, MU Extension, National Western Stock Show and the Missouri Beef Industry Council.

In her spare time, Shannon enjoys being outside, attending concerts, working on her photography and videography skills and playing with Stila – her German Shorthaired Lab puppy.
