How long has your station been on the air?  

Signed on 4/1/96.  We’re an April Fool’s baby!

How long have you been a Brownfield affiliate?  

Since Brownfield came to Ohio – August 2011

What Brownfield programs do you air?  

Daily Ohio Ag News, Farmbreak, Closing report, National Ag Week, National FFA Week, National Farm Safety Week, National 4H Week, the annual Ag Youth award.

Tell us about the services your station provides.

K96 WKFM is a country music station, which features local announcers, NASCAR racing and Brownfield Ag programming.  We have three stations in our cluster in north central Ohio.  We serve the area between Cleveland and Toledo Ohio, and WKFM is our station that reaches the biggest area and has the most listeners.

Tell us about your community involvement.

WKFM is very involved in our community.  Our station co-sponsors dozens of local community events, and we host our own annual Firefighter’s Chili Cook Off fundraiser.  We interview members of our community every weekday, feature a “Country Community Calendar” with PSAs and non-profit groups, air local high school sports, emcee local events and parades, and more.  We believe that if you take care of our community – and your community will take care of you.
