Anything else you would like to tell us?

The same company still locally owns us since 1982.  The Station has had only two owners since its start in 1968. Former Governor Robert D. Ray and Jacobson Broadcasting Company, Inc. owned by Roger and Barbara Jacobson.  On average, our employees have been with us 20.88 years.  Our last hire was July of 2014.  We were Live and Local before it became an industry buzz word!

  • This is such a great spotlight! Roger and Barb are my parents, and I grew up working at KILR radio – mowing the lawns, helping do ads during AM talk radio programs, making commercials, doing the Saturday afternoon shift. I learned so much from my hardworking parents. They have brought strength, integrity, & news/entertainment to this area for almost 40 years now! They love Estherville and have invested their time and strengths into making it a great radio station that serves the greater Iowa Lakes region.
