Zoetis launches sustainability initiative

Zoetis has launched its Driven to Care initiative highlighting the company’s long-term sustainability goals.

Christina Lood with Zoetis said the initiative has three parts including communities, animals and the planet. She tells Brownfield Driven to Care will support people within animal care.

“One of the goals we’re really excited about is providing $1 million annually for veterinary student scholarships and, where possible, will focus on underrepresented groups.”

Lood said Zoetis has made a commitment to use all renewable energy by 2050. She says in the meantime, the company is looking at changes it can make in house.

“We’re also looking at improving our product packaging so that there’s less waste,” Lood said. “Hopefully that’s good news for our customers, you know, when they’re using our products.”

Lood said the company looks forward to partnering with veterinarians, livestock producers and pet owners to revise and build on its sustainability goals moving forward.
