WOTUS revision time to listen and learn
U.S. Ag Secretary Tom Vilsack tells Brownfield what he believes is part of the motive of EPA Administrator Michael Regan in reopening the Waters of the U.S. rule.
“I know what he wants to be able to do is he wants to listen and learn, and he wants to make sure as they recraft this rule, they do in a way that responds to the concerns and the realities on the ground,” he says.
After a review of the Trump administration’s rule, the EPA and the Army Corps of Engineers determined the Navigable Waters Protection Rule is significantly reducing clean water protections. As a result, the Department of Justice is filing a motion requesting remand of the rule.
Vilsack says the administration needs to be more receptive to feedback during the process and expects Regan to follow through on addressing concerns.
