With little rain, Kansas crop conditions continue to decline

Many crops in Kansas are past the point of recovering from extreme heat and drought.

The USDA says 29 percent of corn is rated good-to-excellent with 25 percent dented.

Thirty-six percent of soybeans are rated in good-to-excellent condition. Fifty-seven percent have set pods.

Sorghum is rated 27 percent good-to-excellent with 9 percent coloring.

Cotton condition is rated 29 percent good-to-excellent with 12 percent of bolls opening.

Thirteen percent of pasture and range conditions are good-to-excellent.
